Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Corpus Atlas. They are deliberately short, because the important points are few: this is an educational reference rather than a clinical service, using it does not put anyone here in a professional relationship with you, and the anatomy models are licensed from a third party on terms that carry over to anyone who reuses them.

Educational use only

Corpus Atlas is published for general education. It is not a medical device, not a clinical decision support tool, and not a diagnostic service. The calculators are illustrations of published population formulae and produce estimates, not clinical measurements. Nothing here should be used to make a treatment decision, to triage a patient, or in place of an assessment by a qualified professional.

Full detail on the limits of the content is in the medical disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

No clinician-patient relationship

Reading this site, using a calculator, or corresponding with the editorial team does not create a clinician-patient relationship, a duty of care, or any professional advisory relationship between you and Corpus Atlas or its contributors. Where a named clinician has reviewed a page for accuracy, that review is an editorial check of general content — it is not an act of clinical practice directed at any individual reader, and it does not make that clinician your doctor.

Emails sent to the editorial team are not confidential clinical correspondence and individual medical questions will not be answered. Please do not send personal health information.

Accuracy and limitation of liability

Substantial effort goes into accuracy — every specific claim is traced to a named source and pages are re-checked on a fixed cadence, as set out in the editorial policy. Even so, medical knowledge changes, guidance is revised, and errors happen. The content is provided as-is, without warranty that it is complete, current or free from error.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corpus Atlas and its contributors accept no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on the content, from the use of any calculator or tool, from any interruption to the site, or from the content of external sites linked from it. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If you believe a page is wrong, please report it — the corrections policy explains what happens next.

Content and licensing

The written guides, structure, illustrations and code of Corpus Atlas are © 2026 Corpus Atlas, all rights reserved. You are welcome to link to any page, and to quote a short extract with clear attribution and a link back to the source page. Republishing whole guides, or using the content to train or fine-tune a model, requires written permission.

Material quoted from third parties — guidelines, figures and study findings — remains the property of its publisher and is cited on the page where it appears.

3D anatomy models

The 3D geometry used in the anatomy explorer is derived from BodyParts3D, © The Database Center for Life Science, licensed under CC Attribution-ShareAlike 2.1 Japan. Meshes have been grouped, simplified and recoloured for the web. These models are a teaching aid, not a diagnostic tool — anatomy varies between individuals.

Because the licence is share-alike, anyone reusing these models or derivatives of them must credit The Database Center for Life Science and release their version under the same licence. That obligation runs with the geometry itself and is separate from the copyright in the rest of this site.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to disrupt the site or its infrastructure, scrape it at a volume that degrades service for other readers, or present its content as your own or as clinical advice you are qualified to give.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as the site develops; the current version is always the one published here. For licensing requests, permissions or any question about this page, email editorial@corpusatlas.example.com or see the contact page.
